“Blade Package And/Or Rack Package Is Set. Individual PackImage Modification Is Not Allowed For This Host Firmware Package” error appeared in my screen when I was trying to modify the UCS host firmware package for a newly added blade and I wanted to modify the CNA adapter type.
This message was preventing, save the firmware policy after selecting the newly added adapter type and I thought to write this post to share this with the community.
This was due to the selection of the firmware policy type when it was creating simply it was created using the default configuration and selected the policy type as “Simple” and it was not able to modify after the creation.
Create An Advanced Host Firmware Package
So the next step and the solution for the issue was to create an “Advanced” host firmware policy and select the adapter type.
In order to create a new host firmware package right click on the “Host Firmware Package” and Select “Create Host Firmware Package” option
Select the Host Firmware Package as “Advanced”
Now do the required modification and save the changes, also now you can edit the Host Firmware Package as you need in the future.
